SANTUS™ Classic FAQ
SANTUS™ is a wine preservation and dispensing system that uses Argon gas to keep your wine fresh for over two weeks. Complete with a chiller, SANTUS keeps your wine fresh and ready to serve.
SANTUS™ uses argon to preserve the wine. Argon is the bodyguard of your wine. It does not chemically react with wine. When the button is pressed to dispense the wine, argon from the canister enters the bottle to push the wine out. The released argon now rests above your wine, protecting it from the harmful effects of oxidation.
SANTUS™ is currently designed to support a standard Bordeaux wine bottle of 750ml (25 oz.), measuring 292mm x 75mm (11.5” x 3”). If you fancy wine from a bottle different than the standard, do drink up!
The package comes with the SANTUS™ dispenser fully assembled, and a power adapter rated for your country.
All major credit cards are accepted. Customers in Singapore may also use PayNow.
SANTUS™ comes with a one year manufacturer's warranty in countries where it is officially sold and supported.
No, SANTUS™ works both with and without power. When powered, SANTUS™ can chill your wine. However, preservation works in both states.
We have done it for you. The factory setting for SANTUS™ is 10°C (50°F), for optimum enjoyment. Exacting connoisseurs may pour a glass to let it breathe and unfurl to 17°C - 18°C (64.4°F).
This is a feature we call the puff system. SANTUS™ pushes out any lingering wine in the system so that every pour is fresh, without residue from previous pours. We have filed a patent for this innovation and are proud to share it with you even at this early stage.
Absolutely! SANTUS™ is designed for easy and safe removal. To do so, first unlock the clip from the bottle and bring the tube end to the mouth of the bottle without removing it.
Press the button to expel any remaining wine from the tube, then remove the tube completely from the old bottle.
With the new bottle in hand, insert the tube and lock it in place. Note that a full bottle of wine may spill if you insert the tube. Prevent this by pouring out just enough wine to insert the tube comfortably.
Your initial bottle of wine is still protected by argon gas. Use your SANTUS™ wine stopper to lock it. The wine remains preserved if it is stored standing up. DO NOT shake the bottle of wine.
The canister is designed to work with 8-10 bottles of wine depending on usage.
Press the dispenser button. If wine pressure is low or no wine is dispensed at all, it is time to replace the Argon canister.
Remove the rear cover. Tilt the canister to be at a right angle to the tower. Unscrew anti-clockwise the used canister from the body of the machine.
Replace and screw in a new canister until you hear 'pssst', the sound of gas being released. Continue tightening until the sound stops and the canister is firmly attached. Tilt the canister back to the vertical position, replace the hood and you are ready for your next pour.
We are constantly searching for partners in countries around the world to carry the SANTUS™. Please let us know by email which city and country that you live in, and we will work to make it available to you as soon as possible.
