FAQ
Conceived in 2013, SANTUS™ specializes in lifestyle products that make the timeless flavors of wine last longer. This empowers individuals to fully indulge in their love for wine by giving them more time to savor every sip - be it at home or elsewhere. Newly launched, the SANTUS™ Andante series is committed to the environment while reducing wine waste. Through the use of environmentally friendly materials, we hope to help our customers do more with less.
The Andante series circulates the air in the wine bottle through the oxygen adsorber to filter out any oxygen in the bottle. By filtering in between usage, we can preserve an open bottled of wine for up to 14 days.
No it does not. Decanting or aerating is a very important part of wine drinking but they are very easily solved by the many products available in the market. We prevent wine from wasting if left unpreserved for more than 3 days.
In addition to the machine, the Andante Uno packaging comes with a filter cartridge, a box of 4 reusable dispenser tubes, a power adapter and a user manual.
The Pro version has cooling and temperature control functions that the Lite version does not have. The Pro version can manually switch the cabin temperature between 10 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius; you can also select the desired temperature in the range of 10 to 18 degrees Celsius on the mobile phone.
SANTUS™ can be purchased through our official website www.mysantus.com as well as iOS and Android Apps. Most common payment methods like VISA, MasterCard and American Express etc. are supported.
SANTUS™ offers a one year manufacturer's warranty. Please show proof of purchase, and contact customer service through our website at www.mysantus.com or email us at enquiry@mysantus.com
The Andante needs to be plugged in for use. When plugged in, the Andante can chill the wine as well as keep the wine fresh for 14 days. The indicator light strips add to the aesthetics of the machine while the connectivity to the internet will send alerts to your mobile phone and remind you of the wine status.
Andante needs to be powered on BEFORE you install your cartridge. Please remove it, reset the power button, before installing the cartridge again.
One filter cartridge can preserve about 7 full bottles of wine. Follow the tips below to extend its usage.
When the left most indicator light on the top of Andante is green, it means that the filter cartridge is in the range of 20-100% full. When the indicator light turns orange, it means that the filter cartridge is less than 20% full. It is a good time to replenish the cartridge if you are out of it. When the indicator light shows red, then it means that the filter cartridge is completely exhausted, and needs to be replaced. At the same time, if the filter cartridge has not been used in the machine for 6 months, it is also recommended to replace it. These warnings will also be sent as an alert to your mobile phone.
You can purchase the filter cartridge directly from the App or go to the official website (www.mysantus.com) to make purchases.
Note: Once the filter cartridge has been installed, please do not remove or tamper with it, otherwise it will affect the system's calculation on filter consumption. Please only remove the cartridge once the indicator light displays red color.
To make the Andante an icon, it is designed to support most standard Bordeaux 750ml wine bottles with a height of 295-315mm and an outer diameter of no more than 80mm. It does not support extra tall (greater than 315mm) or extra wide bottle sizes like Burgundy bottles.
The SANTUS™ Andante series has a Pro and a Lite version. Only the Pro version has a temperature control function. After setting up the machine, the default chamber temperature is set at 15 degrees Celsius by default. The wine platform button on the top of the machine is also a temperature control button. To change the temperature on the Andante, press and hold the platform button for about 3 seconds until you hear a Beep sound before letting go. A single Beep means 15 degrees Celsius temperature while two beeps mean 10 degrees Celsius, a temperature more suitable for white; In addition, you can also remotely set a more detailed temperature (10-18 degrees Celsius) from your App on the mobile phone.
In order to prevent wine sediments from being sucked into the machine, we have included a filter at the end of the tube and left it intentionally a little short. For the last bit of wine that cannot be dispensed, please pour it out into your glass. This also saves on oxygen filter usage.
It is recommended to replace one tube for every two bottles of wine. There is no need to purchase these dispenser tubes separately as each filter cartridge comes packed with 4 tubes.
It is recommended to "clean" the machine between bottles of wine if you are concern with inter-mixing of tastes, although the amount of wine within the Andante is kept to the very minimum. Fill an empty wine bottle with water and dispense it just like you do with wine and this will do the trick.
When a bottle has been removed and put back into the chamber, the machine will assume that it is a new bottle of wine, and the countdown starts again from 14 days. Therefore, we suggest that the wine should not be taken out of the machine halfway before it is finished, so as not to affect the machine's judgment of freshness.
After dispensing, Andante will blow the remaining wine left in the tube to prevent the potential for oxidized wine being in your next pour, hence affecting its taste.
There are two possibilities: first, there may be no wine in the bottle or the dispenser tube has reached its limits; second, the dispensing tube may be twisted or the wine stopper may not be installed properly. If it is the first case, please replace it with a new bottle of wine; if it is the second case, please take out the wine bottle and reinstall the dispenser tube and the wine stopper.
The wine bottle is tightly sealed and connected to the machine to prevent leakage, so this phenomenon is common. Hold the wine bottle and lift up the lever of the wine stopper and you'll find the bottle released.
It may be that the wine bottle is not placed in the center of the lifting platform, and the stopper stop groove is not aligned with the stop column. Please follow the instructions in the manual (operation steps 05, 06) to reposition the wine bottle.
It may be that the top of the wine stopper is not properly aligned and sealed. Please click the platform button and wait for the lifting platform to return to its lowest position before repeating the wine alignment operation as stated in the manual (operation steps 05, 06, 07), until the "di di di di" prompt sound is triggered. If the same problem persists, then the wine bottle might belong to the few that might not fit well with Andante. Hold the neck of the wine bottle with your hand and gently give it a slight upward lift to manually secure the bottle onto the machine. This usually solves the problem. But if it still does not, we apologize for your inconvenience and ask for your understanding.
The wine bottle shakes slightly during the lifting process, causing the in-position contacts on the wine stopper to touch the detection electrode on the inner wall. It does not affect the normal alignment of the wine bottle, please rest assured to use it.
It is recommended that when there are multiple devices that need to be set up with a mobile phone via Bluetooth, only the devices that need to be set up are turned on, and the rest are turned off. After the first machine is successfully connected to the Internet, turn it off and set up the next one.
The SANTUS Andante is currently available in: China and Singapore.
Three tips on using Andante:
1. After opening a bottle of wine, please pour directly from the bottle for yourself or your drinking partner(s). Once you are done, prep the bottle with the remaining wine and preserve it in the Andante. We preserve 7 full bottles of wine. If each bottle is only half bottles left, we can support much more.
2. If there is only one glass of wine left in the bottle, remove the bottle from Andante and pour the last glass out instead of dispensing. This again saves on the filter cartridge.
3. Andante will only start filtering the air in the wine bottle 90 mins after the last pour. Multiple pours in between does not consume oxygen absorbers."
